iciHaiti – Florida : 42 Haitian migrants intercepted after disembarking near Key Biscayne

Tuesday, August 24 at round 3:00 p.m., a Customs and Border Safety patrol in collaboration with Air and Marine Operations and the US Coast Guard Southeast (USCG) responded to an alert reporting a suspicious boat.

Federal brokers and native legislation enforcement officers attended the scene and intercepted 42 Haitian migrants who had landed illegally on US soil close to Key Biscayne.

The Haitian migrants have been taken into custody, pending their potential deportation to Haiti, confirmed Thomas Martin, Chief Patrol Officer of US Customs and Border Safety.

The boat carrying them was seized.
